Home of the natural landmark known as Proposal Rock, Neskowin, Oregon, is a small coastal village of less than a hundred residents. Many of the properties found in town are rentals, but the locals make sure their little town is filled with personality and is welcoming to the visitors who will come and go. Everything you’ll need in Neskowin is within walking distance, and every local you pass will greet you with a smile. Throughout the neighborhood you will find hand painted signs and free dog treats, books, and beach toys. If you’re on your way to the beach be sure to stop by the market for a cup of coffee and a Proposal Rock sweatshirt.
When walking through the neighborhood, I felt something unique was happening in Neskowin, and wanted to capture the beauty of it through this series of images. The goal of this project is to exhibit the noteworthy qualities of a town that tends to fly under the radar. My intention is not to make it seem like I discovered Neskowin, but is to highlight a location that is less commercialized than its coastal neighbors like Lincoln City and Pacific City.
